CRICKET AT THE KANDYAN

The Kandyan on Gloucester Road is renowned for its fantastic Sri Lankan cuisine… but they’re all mad about cricket as well as cooking! Owner Sam has played for Failand & Portbury CC for many years and is now a proud member of Gloucestershire Seniors and the XL club too. The other Sri Lankan staff are all keen cricketers and the restaurant has a great ‘pavilion’ at the back – a superb venue for al fresco dining and full of cricketing memorabilia! Well worth a visit!

Over many years, Sam has developed the KCKA - Kandyan Cricket Kit Appeal. He collects unwanted cricket equipment here in Bristol and ships it back for use in Sri Lanka . With his cricketing connections in Central Province, Sam can ensure that the kit goes to the schools and clubs who really need the support.

CALLING ALL CRICKETERS… Why not come over to the Kandyan for a great Sri Lankan meal – and bring with you any of your old cricket equipment that’s no longer needed? We’ll be very grateful for your support! We can use: Bats, Balls, Pads, Helmets, Batting gloves, Keeper’s Gloves, Cricket Bags, all items of Clothing – the lot!
